The Month of Youth film night screened The Medusa Raft, the first feature by Slovenian avant-garde director Karpo Godina.
The film follows two teachers in the 1920s who long for adventure beyond their small Serbian town. Their routine is disrupted by artists from Belgrade, Zenitism and an unexpected epidemic. It leaves viewers with a question that still resonates: what purpose did the avant-garde serve in the Balkans?
