Candidates
Timen Bobnar
I am running for a seat on the Student Council at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
I completed my undergraduate studies in practical mathematics, and I am now continuing at master's level in Computer Science and Mathematics (IŠRM). As a tutor with more than two years of experience, I have a strong understanding of the challenges students face, as well as their wishes and needs. I advocate for stronger connections among students through organising events and activities that enrich the study experience and encourage cooperation and community. I believe it is essential that students have the opportunity to make their voices heard in decisions shaping our study environment. As a member of the Student Council, I will push for more opportunities for students, both academically and personally, and for the development of knowledge and skills that are key to our future.
Aleksej Luka Golobič
I am Aleksej Luka Golobič, a student of Financial Mathematics, and this year I am running for a seat in the ŠOUL assembly.
I'm into music, I read philosophy, and I play sport. I decided to run because during my first year of study it became clear to me that ŠOUL has become a distorted version of the organisation that should, in principle, represent students' interests. ŠOUL only works to preserve the current, dismal state of affairs, in which any attempt at change for the benefit of students falls victim to the self-interest of the ruling clique. I believe ŠOUL could instead be used as a tool for broader student organising that would genuinely make life better for students. As a member of the student assembly, I will push for:
- Better scholarship and housing policy.
- Better, cheaper, less commercial parties.
- More social extracurricular activities.
- Interdisciplinary lectures and round-table discussions.
- Greater transparency in how ŠOU operates.
Lara Pustinek Miočić
Hi! I'm Lara Pustinek Miočić and I'm a representative of the Tenzor student list.
I first encountered the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana when I walked through the doors of Radio Študent. RŠ also happens to be the only media outlet that actively reports on student politics, so that's largely where I learned about it — on the job, so to speak. I decided to run because, rather than remaining an observer, I want to participate more actively in student political decision-making. To the best of my ability, I want to advocate for students' rights, both in general and especially at FMF, where I am now a second-year mathematics student. I'm also simultaneously completing a degree at the Faculty of Arts, but it's this community — the one where I've truly found my place — that I especially want to be part of.
Maj Požar
I am running for a seat in the student organisation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
This year I am continuing in my third year of the general physics programme. Students' hardships, from housing to other everyday struggles, are familiar to me both from my circle of friends and from activist work. I believe that by participating in elections we can improve students' social situation and political awareness, and become more involved in deciding what kind of support is most needed. That is why I am running on the Tenzor list as a representative for culture and publishing.
Staša Korpič
I am running for a seat in the student organisation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
I am enrolled in the second year of undergraduate physics, meteorology track. Students' living and academic conditions are worsening, which shows up in higher food prices, unaffordable housing in Ljubljana, a shortage of reading-room seats, and poor working conditions in student jobs. Many of these problems seem unsolvable at first glance, but I believe that building a strong, united student organisation that works for students' wellbeing is the first step toward solving them. At the faculty, I will therefore push for more accessible student events that build stronger connections among students and provide a space for communication, sharing ideas, and finding solutions — as well as a break from demanding academic commitments.
Jakob Sever Klasinc
I am running for a seat in the student organisation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
I'm Jakob S. Klasinc. I study mathematics and I am running for a seat in the FMF student organisation on the Tenzor list. So far I've been involved in activism in Maribor and Ljubljana, where I helped organise various events, workshops, and rallies, working in the areas of environmental protection and workers' rights. I think students at FMF have an opportunity to organise more formally, so that we can achieve real community and material change. I also believe that we not only can, but must, raise awareness of the problems students face and students' broader position in society.
